What are my professional qualifications?

I am a BSc (Hons) Psychology graduate (1985).

I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy (2003) and have completed a course in Supervision (2006), each accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), from the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education, London, which is a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

I am a fully trained and accredited (Levels 1, 2 & 3) EMDR  practitioner which I use to help clients who have had traumatic episodes in their lives as well as for treating phobias, anxiety and other lingering emotional issues.

 

Am I accredited to a professional organisation?

I have been registered with the the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) since 2004. I am also an EMDR European accredited practitioner through EMDR UK & IRL.

 

Do I subscribe to a code of professional ethics?

My therapeutic work is conducted in accordance with the Codes of Ethics and Practice of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.

 

Do I receive regular supervision?

Yes, I receive professional supervision for my individual client work, EMDR and supervision of my supervision.

 

Medical Insurance

I am a provider of psychological services recognised by BUPA, Simplyhealth, Pruhealth and Aviva Healthcare, and can see clients who hold medical insurance policies through these organisations. If you hold insurance with these providers, you may need to be referrred to me by your GP or a Psychiatrist. I am known by and have working relationships with a number of local Psychiatrists and referral can be organised through them if required.

 

Fees

My ongoing fee structure varies depending on the length of session and the type of therapy requested. I have a very small number of lower cost places but their availability will depend on whether they are currently taken and your own financial situation. Fees will be discussed when contact is made with me.
